Moving Checklist

You’ve made the decision. You’ve got everything in order. Now you have to determine what to bring to your new home community.

This helpful checklist will assist you with gathering everything you need while also ensuring you don’t leave behind what makes your living space “home”.

Let's Move!

Moving into an assisted living community is an important transition in your life, and we want to ensure that it is as comfortable and smooth as possible.

To create a welcoming environment, we recommend bringing along enough items from your home that promote a sense of familiarity and personal comfort.

Outfits

Bring at least (1) outfit for each day of the week (7 outfits minimum)

Coat / Jacket

Bring at least (1) coat for colder weather and/or rain

Laundry Basket & Laundry Marker

Laundry is done once per week on designated days. Please label all clothing with your room/apartment #

Hygiene Products

Pack all of your favorite toiletries and hygiene products: toilet paper, soaps, shampoo/conditioner (these items will need to be replenished monthly the resident or family member)

Shower Curtain

Bring (1) shower curtain

Towels / Wash Cloths

Bring at least (2) towels and wash clothes

Sheets

Bring (2) sets of sheets

Blanket / Comforter

Bring at least (1) blanket or comforter

Mattress Pad

Bring (1) waterproof mattress pad

Mattress Cover

Bring (1) protective mattress and (1) protective box spring cover

Sentimental Items

Framed photos / photo albums

Recliner / Couch

Bring your favorite recliner, coach, etc.

Bring a small amount of dishes and utensils

Landline Phone

Bring at least (1) landline phone, if you wish. Landline services are available if the resident has the monthly funding available.

Cable Cord

Bring (1) cable cord. Cable box and cable services are provided to each resident.

Your input allows us to tailor our services to better accommodate your individual requirements, making your experience more fulfilling.

Sense of Home

When you arrive at our community, we want to ensure a smooth adjustment process. Personalizing your living space with treasured possessions can help recreate the sense of home. You are welcome to bring along special mementos, family photos, and select pieces of furniture to make your new apartment feel familiar and comforting.

Stay Connected

We encourage you to maintain your social connections and engage in activities that bring you joy. Regular visits from family and friends, outings to local attractions, and participation in community events can greatly contribute to your overall well-being and help you settle into your new lifestyle.

Getting Checked in

Review information on check-in/move-in times and what to expect to ensure your transition to our communities is a smooth one.

  • 9:30am – 11:00am
  • 1:30pm – 3:30pm
  • 6:30pm – 8:00pm

 

Please notify us via phone or email to coordinate your specific move-in date and time.

An employee of The Serenity community who is certified to move heavy furniture will assist with your offloading.

However, we are not responsible for moving furniture and other items to the apartment. The resident and family, or a hired moving company, will need to ensure all furniture and items are delivered to the resident’s apartment.

Upon arrival to The Serenity Community, please use our back entrance. A member of The Serenity Community that is certified to move heavy furniture will assist with offloading.
